Anaheim, CA – Congresswoman Young Kim’s campaign continues to build momentum heading into the final weeks of the election, with POLITICO’s California Playbook reporting that Kim raised $1.15 million in the third quarter, bringing her total fundraising for the election cycle to more than $10 million. Kim enters the final weeks of the campaign with $2 million cash on hand.
“Raising more than $10 million from supporters who believe in her mission is a remarkable achievement for a non-targeted seat, though admittedly still less than the massive personal fortune Ken Calvert has amassed for himself after nearly four decades in Congress,” said Young Kim spokesperson Chris Pack.
Kim’s fundraising haul is the latest sign of her growing momentum. A mid-September poll featured in POLITICO’s California Playbook found Kim leading Calvert 43 percent to 34 percent. That poll followed an internal Young Kim campaign survey from earlier in September that found the race essentially tied, with Calvert at 35 percent and Kim at 34 percent.
