Kim Adds Half a Million Dollars to Media Buy; Maintains a $2 Million Cash Advantage Over Ken Calvert
Anaheim, CA- Today, the Young Kim for Congress campaign announced a major expansion of its media buy, adding $500,000 in new broadcast and cable advertising. The increase brings the campaign’s total media reservation for California’s June primary election to $3.75 million. The buy, which is scheduled to begin in early April 2026, includes more than $3.25 million committed to broadcast and cable, with an additional $500,000 dedicated to streaming platforms.
Kim’s massive $3.75 million buy makes her the third-largest ad reservation in the country behind only the Senate Leadership Fund and an Illinois Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate.
In the first month of 2026, Young Kim has raised over $600,000, after raising over $1.5 million in the 4th quarter of 2025, and ended the period with nearly $5.5 million cash-on-hand.
Rep. Kim’s fundraising prowess has given her a strong cash advantage in the race for California’s 40th Congressional District:

As media attention focuses on the much-anticipated CA-40 primary, one thing is clear – elected officials, operatives, and pundits alike recognize Kim’s fundraising prowess and ability to win tough races. Puck News recently reported that “’Kim is a ferocious competitor who flipped a Democratic district in 2020 and has faced a tough reelection every cycle.’ A House GOP consultant also added, ‘some people, when they’re stressed, go to the gym. Young makes fundraising calls. She’s a f*cking machine.’”
Congresswoman Young Kim currently represents California’s 40th Congressional District, which encompasses portions of Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties. Kim represents over 175,000 registered voters and over 42% of high-propensity Republican voters in the new 40th district. She serves on the House Financial Services Committee, House Foreign Affairs Committee, and House China Select Committee.
