SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, CA – – Last night the San Bernardino County Republican Party took swift action in the election for California’s 39th Congressional District by backing Young Kim as the officially endorsed candidate to succeed U.S. Representative Ed Royce. The endorsement shows momentum continuing to build behind Kim and sends a strong message to other Republican candidates considering an election run that Young Kim is the front-runner.
“It’s an honor to receive the endorsement of the San Bernardino County Republican Party ,” said Kim. “I will proudly represent the party as a candidate fighting for the hard working men and women of the 39th Congressional District.”
Young Kim is running in the district that has been represented by U.S. Representative Ed Royce since 1993. Royce has endorsed Kim, as has U.S. Representative Mimi Walters, Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael Antonovich (Ret.), Orange County Supervisor Michelle Steel and many other local leaders.
As an immigrant to the United States Young began her career as a small-business owner and financial analyst. Her public service began more than 25 years ago, when Young went to work for U.S. Representative Ed Royce, eventually becoming his Director of Community Operations.
Kim was elected to the 65th District of the California State Assembly in 2014 and served one term. She has founded and continues to serve on the Board of Directors for numerous local non-profit organizations. Young and her husband Charles are the proud parents of four grown children.
