Republican Party of Orange County Joins the Republican Party of Los Angeles County in Early Endorsing Young Kim for California’s 39th Congressional District
Fullerton, CA– Today, Young Kim announced she has been unanimously endorsed by the Republican Party of Orange County in her race for the 39th congressional district. This news makes the Republican Party of Orange County the second county party in the district to endorse Kim after the Republican Party of Los Angeles County officially announced their support last week.
“A former State Assemblywoman, Young Kim is a proven fighter and experienced legislator. In 2018, while facing the most expensive congressional race in the country and competing in the most diverse district in the county, Young ran an incredibly strong campaign and came very close to holding the seat of former Congressman Ed Royce,” said Fred Whitaker, Chairman of the Republican Party of Orange County. “Young is no stranger to defeating out-of-touch incumbents. In 2014, Young flipped the 65th Assembly district in one of the most competitive races in the state. I have full confidence that Young’s candidacy will offer voters of the 39th district a common-sense conservative alternative to liberal Gil Cisneros, who to this day has not held a public town hall in Orange County.”
“The early endorsement of the Orange County Republican Party means so much to me. Our campaign is really building momentum and energizing people to win back the 39th district because they desperately want honest and responsive leadership,” said Young Kim.
Kim’s campaign previously announced the endorsements of House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy, former U.S. Representative Ed Royce, and a slew of regional leaders including State Senators Ling Ling Chang and Pat Bates as well as State Assemblymembers Steven Choi and Tyler Diep.
California’s 39th congressional district overlaps portions of Orange, Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties and includes the cities and communities of Anaheim, Brea, Buena Park, Fullerton, La Habra, Placentia, Yorba Linda, Diamond Bar, Hacienda Heights, La Habra Heights, Rowland Heights, Walnut, and Chino Hills.
