Kim Emerges as Republican Primary Victor, Set to Face Democrat Cisneros in November
Fullerton, CA – The Associated Press has called California’s 39th congressional district and the rematch between Republican Young Kim and Democrat Gil Cisneros is now officially set. Young Kim emerged as the unified, clear choice to take-on Cisneros in the November General election.
Former Assemblywoman Young Kim released the following statement following her victory:
“From the start of our campaign, I have been encouraged and humbled by the enthusiasm of voters across the district. There is a yearning for independent and trusted leadership and I’m honored for the support I have received and blessed to continue this fight through November.
“This campaign has been built on an agenda that will get California’s economy moving again. From lower taxes to affordable healthcare to available housing, there are significant issues burdening our state and its ability to grow. I will continue to bring these issues to the forefront over the next seven months and will always fight for what matters most to the residents of this district.
“All eyes are to November now, where I will continue to fight for our families, our schools, and our community. This is a campaign built to win and we plan to do just that come November 3rd.”
