FULLERTON, CA – – Congressional candidate Young Kim (R-CA45) picked up a key endorsement today with the announcement that retired Los Angeles County Supervisor Mike Antonovich is supporting her campaign for Congress.
“Young Kim has a proven record of commitment to the diverse communities of the 39th congressional district and I am proud to endorse her,” said Antonovich. “Young will bring energy and a spirit of public service to Washington along with a deep understanding of the issues we face.”
Mike Antonovich served as a Los Angeles County Supervisor for three decades, earning the title of Mayor of Los Angeles County. As Supervisor, he fought for mental health care, foster children and improved transportation.
As an immigrant to the United States Young began her career as a small business owner and financial analyst. Her public service began more than 25 years ago, when Young went to work for U.S. Representative Ed Royce, eventually becoming his Director of Community Operations.
Kim was elected to the 65th District of the California State Assembly in 2014 and served one term. She has founded and continues to serve on the Board of Directors for numerous local non-profit organizations. Young and her husband Charles are the proud parents of four grown children.
